Your story belongs
to you.

A tattoo can hold a memory. But when that memory is tied to abuse, coercion, or a chapter someone is trying to leave behind, the choice to remove it can carry a deeper meaning.

SELAH is developing charitable tattoo removal in Lubbock to help make that choice more accessible. Our vision is care rooted in dignity, personal agency, and the possibility of a different future.

No one should be forced to carry a painful reminder on their body simply because they cannot afford to have it removed.

Compassion,
put into practice.

We’re laying the groundwork for a thoughtful, sustainable program. Treatment and applications are not open yet.

Building the foundation

Equipment, medical oversight, insurance, treatment space, and funding are part of our work before launch.

01

Care without the cost

Our planned model provides treatment at no cost to approved participants, without copays or routine collection of detailed financial records. Final policies will be adopted before launch.

02

A path toward possibility

The program is being designed for people facing painful tattoo reminders, safety concerns, or barriers to employment and reentry—including survivors of abuse, trafficking, and coercion.

03

More than one way to reach us

We plan to welcome community referrals and direct applications. Future eligibility and treatment decisions will depend on program criteria, clinical suitability, funding, and capacity.

Clear answers.
A thoughtful start.

We’ll share more as the program takes shape.

Is SELAH offering tattoo removal now?

Not yet. We’re in program development, working on funding, equipment, medical oversight, insurance, treatment space, and final policies. We have not announced an opening date, and treatment appointments and applications are not available yet.

Who is the program being designed for?

Our focus includes people facing tattoo reminders of abuse, trafficking, coercion, or other significant harm, as well as tattoos that create serious employment or reentry barriers. Final eligibility criteria will be adopted before launch; a particular experience or referral will not automatically guarantee approval.

Will participants have to pay?

The planned program is no-cost for approved participants, with no sliding scale or copayments. We are building a funding model to support that approach. Final policies require Board adoption before launch, and availability will depend on charitable funding and clinical capacity.

Will applicants need financial records?

Our planned intake will not routinely require bank statements, tax returns, pay stubs, or detailed financial records. Applicants may be asked to briefly describe access barriers in their own words. Final intake and eligibility procedures will be adopted before applications open.

Can an organization refer someone?

We’re welcoming conversations with future referral partners now. Formal referrals and individual applications will open when the program is ready. For now, please contact us about partnership development without sharing another person’s name, photos, or sensitive history.
